THE OLLIE. THE VERY BEGINNING OF YOUR BOX OF TRICKS.
BACK TO TIPS MENU

01 Start by learning this trick on the spot. Position your feet with your back foot on the tail of the board and your front foot about half way between each set of truck bolts.

02 The first thing to do is push down with your back foot. The harder you do this, the higher your ollie will eventually be. You might want to practice this part of the trick first and get the feeling of it before moving on.

03 As you push your back foot down, the nose of your board will rise. As this happens you'll need to drag your front foot up the board to just behind the nose. This is sort of a jumping motion, because by the time your front foot is up at the nose you'll need to pull up your back foot and shift your weight more centrally over the board.

04 As your back foot pulls up into the air your board should level out flat in the air. This won't happen right away though, keep practicing.

05 As you land your ollie aim to have your feet on the truck bolts. This will mean your weight is spread evenly over the board and give you a stable landing.

06 Bend your knees when landing to avoid any sort of jarring in your body, as well as lowering your center of gravity for stability. Aim to not step off the board after landing, although this will come with practice. Once you're comfortoble with this, it's time to get them moving!
