NOLLIE.
BACK TO TIPS MENU

01 This is basically an ollie from the nose of your board rather than the tail. Like a normal ollie, begin with your feet in the opposite position to an ollie, with your front foot on the nose of your board and your back foot somewhere just in front of your back truck bolts. It's best to start these moving because standing still they are no different to a switch ollie.

02 Use your feet as you would an ollie, but opposite, so push down on your front foot and drag your back foot down the board as it rises.

03 As you are moving forward and doing this your body will want to leap forward and leave your board behind, to stop this, when you hit the nose down, also try and push it forwards so you remain over your board.

04 As the tail of the board hits peak height start levelling the board out by pulling up your front foot – as you do an ollie (but the opposite way).

05 It will take practice to level the board out and get it as smooth as your ollie, remember to pull up your back foot like in an ollie. Aim to have your feet over the trucks when levelling out so you don’t snap your board when you land.

06 Landing these straight even with your feet over the truck bolts is tricky, as the board tends to turn slightly when dragging the back foot up the board. Try to prevent this early on by keeping the board central under your feet or not leaning on one edge when setting up. You might need to lean back when first landing these to stay balanced. Now try and get them as high as possible!
