HALFCAB HEELFLIP.
BACK TO TIPS MENU

01 For this you need to have heelflips and fs halfcabs down. Roll fakie at a slow speed to start with your back foot more over the heel edge of the tail, and your front foot more toward the toe edge behind the trick bolts.

02 Crouch down and coil up - wind your arms the opposite way than you want your halfcab heel to go.

03 Pop your tail. If you can do fakie heels this will help - you need to pop down and backwards, similar to a nollie, so you don't simply jump of backwards and your board stays beneath you.

04 As you rise up start your body rotating, and flip the heelflip. Aim to flip it as your rotation gets to 90 degrees (about halfway through the 180). Remember to use your upper body to rotate first, your lower half will then follow.

05 Hover and rotate - You will need a fair amount of pop for this, but at first aim to blast the fakie 180 heel around as fast as possible to get the rotation. The board will follow you round if you've popped of the heel edge of the tail enough at the beginning. If not - try to put more power in the rotation by coiling up more at the start.

06 If you've nailed the popping down and backwards part at the start, it will be easier to stay over the bolts. Remember to land over the bolts you'll need to fully commit to putting your back to this trick - get used to not seeing where your rotating and it will go round much easier. You can start by catching with your front foot if at first to get used to it. Have fun with them!
