01 Start with your feet in the same position
as an ollie, with your back foot slightly more towards the toe edge of
the board. As you crouch down, turn your upper body
slightly the opposite way to the
way you’ll be turning in your 180,
as if it ‘wind-up’.
|
 |

02 As you start the ollie immediately unwind
your upper body and turn it the way your 180 will go. Use your arms to
give you more momentum.
|
 |

03 As you leave the ground your upper body
should be completely turned so your back is facing toward and being in
this position will allow your lower body (legs and board)
to follow.

04 When you reach the peak of your ollie,
your lower body and board should be around half way through your 180.
At first you’ll start landing them in this position, which just
means you needs to put more power into the coil and the turning of the
180 by the start.
|
 |

05 As you come to the point of putting the
front (although it's now the back) of your board down first, be careful
not to lean over in that direction or your weight distribution being uneven
will cause your board to shoot out from under you. |
 |

06 Practice getting all 4 wheels down at
the same time, although it is possible to put you front (now back) wheels
down first and pivot the rest of the way. When you start landing these
properly, you’ll have
to know how to ride out fakie, which means going backwards. As long as
you are looking the way you are moving you’ll be okay, again aim
to land with your feet over the truck bolts to avoid snapping of your
deck. Now get em higher!
