08.06.08 UTTOXETER JAMMING

STAGE 1: COMPLETE


Thanks to everyone who filled in our Skatepark Design Research Form, the results look great and hopefully we can use this first stage to help design better parks around the rest of England too. You can download the results here, and keep your eyes open for stage 2 - where we drill down further to ensure we get the best skatepark possible.

09.10.07 NOMINATED



As a result of Hooked's popularity within Derby and contribution to getting people active and skating, we were nominated for the Club of the Year title by Derbyshire Sport. An evening of drinks, laughs and la buffet a Pride Park in Derby was well recieved by the Hooked team and Craig Smedley. Thanks to everyone who nominated us, see you there next year.

We've got a new blog going, excellent for keeping you up to date on all the latest Hooked news - with much more frequent updates. 24.07.07 STOKE TRIP REPORT



Another year, another Stoke Plaza trip for the Hooked members from Murray Park School. Instead of the usual Alton Towers or safari park for the last day of school, skaters had chance to opt for the stoke trip for the second year running. Click here for the shots of the day!


24.05.07 ACTION SPORTS FEST



Matlock skatepark is holding an action sports festival next month. They have a great skatepark, and they're holding a competition too. Hooked will be there with a few club members ripping the ramps and entering the competition. For more information, go here and download the pack!

Hooked at the Derby 10K & FunRun went down a storm, people skated all day with the highlight of the Icon boys & friends ripping up the ramps with a demo for us. Click here for photographic evidence of the day.

16.01.07 COMPETITION RESULTS



Well the Hooked Street Shots Competition is over, and we have a clear 1st & 2nd place, look here.

Tom Ball came in first place with his sweet invert in Marseille, while Darren Pearcy came second with a smith grind. Congratulations guys, you are winners of a Rollersnakes deck each, a prize voucher will be heading your way soon.

15.01.07 PHYSICAL EDUCATION



Next month Hooked makes it's debut in the PE department as we begin to teach a PE course at Murray Park School where we've been running the afterschool skate club for three months.

The club has been such a hit Hooked & Murray Park School have agreed an initial 6 week course where students at Key Stage 4 can try skateboarding instead of the usual sport options such as football.

Murray Park is one of the first schools in the country to provide skateboarding as part of Physical Education & we're pleased at having the opportunity to support not only skateboarding but education.





We've got new products in the shop just in time for Christmas!

You'll find mens & womens longsleeves to ride in when it's too cold for just a Hooked T-Shirt, and also pin badges - great for decorating dull articles of clothing
or accessories!

09.07.08 RESEARCH HANDOVER


Stage 3 of the skatepark design research has been completed and
a comprehensive document been handed over to the council. No designwork has been done and
none will be done without the participation of the Derby skaters, although the document contains proposals of sizes, locations and ideas, including in depth research
for the Derby Plaza. The Council will now use this as a tool to release funding and raise awareness.



05.06.08 OUR NEW TOY


A new addition to our ramps has arrived, it's a an adjustable driveway with detachable rail. The ramp can have kickers at each end or at 90 degree angles, and the rail is to help us all go bigger! Check it here...

We've got big news. We're working with the powers that be to push for skate facilities in Derby City.

15.01.07 B-ACTIVE CONFERENCE



Hooked will be making an appearance an the B-Active Conference which takes place at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on the 24th of January.

The conference aims to raise awareness and opportunities to improve young peoples health and well being through being active and doing excercise.

We'll have an exhibition space in the Darwin Suite where we'll be available to discuss opportunities for young people through extreme or alternative sports, information on what we're about or just to give you our business card. See you there.
