Hooked is a skate committee
based in Derby, set up with the
aim of providing a service
to young people with an interest in alternative sports. We keep tabs
on all things extreme, and communicate it back to people interested in it through our website.
Our vision is to provide accessible provision of extreme sports activities for young people and help curb some anti-social behaviour - as
well as advertise to the general public about the new provision for extreme sports in the city areas.
We currently use Murray Park Community School as a base of operations,
where we've set up an after school extreme sports club,
as well as organise visits to places of interest such as skate parks and
other alternative sports events around the country.
We own our own ramps and our
own safety equipment and also ensure that all trainers are CRB checked
along with making sure Health & Safety Policies are in
place which allows us to put on all kinds of
events to raise awareness of extreme sports and also give young people
a chance to ride in a safe environment.
So, if you're interested in riding
BMX, skateboarding or inline skating, get in touch. We welcome contributions
such as support
staff for training and
events, contributions to trick tips on or
even news updates on local events.
